This Privacy Policy applies to Telugu Tejam, a program operated by Subbu Innovative Classes Pvt. Ltd.(“we”, “us”, “our”), with its registered office in Hyderabad, India. We can be reached at admin@aksharatejam.in.

This policy explains how we handle personal data of users worldwide, including the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), and India (DPDP Act).

• Account data: name, mobile number, email (if provided), country, and a 4-digit PIN (stored hashed).
• Verification data: one-time passwords (OTPs) sent via SMS or voice for phone verification.
• Participation data: story attempts, audio recordings, scores, leaderboard standings, and progress.
• Payment data: handled by our payment processor (Razorpay). We receive only transaction status and identifiers, not full card or banking details.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device info, and usage logs collected automatically.
• Cookies & local storage: used for session management and preferences.

• To create and secure your account.
• To run the competition: evaluate attempts, generate leaderboards, deliver prizes.
• To send transactional notifications (OTPs, results, reminders).
• To process payments and issue receipts.
• To improve content, detect fraud, and ensure platform safety.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR): performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests, and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the platform — cloud hosting, database (Supabase), authentication (Firebase, Twilio), payments (Razorpay), and analytics.
• Legal authorities when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
• Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer (with notice).

Our infrastructure may process data in India, the EU, and the United States. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for cross-border transfers under GDPR.

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Inactive accounts may be deleted or anonymized after a reasonable period.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

Telugu Tejam is intended for school-age children, who participate with parental or guardian consent. Parents/guardians may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child’s information. We do not knowingly collect data from children outside the scope of the program.

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed PINs, role-based access control, and audit logging. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but work continuously to protect your data.

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
